ITC Faculty Early Bird Programme: Eligibility, Deadline & How to Apply

ITC is happy to announce the ‘Early Bird’ programme for a limited number of unconditionally admitted candidates.

The ‘Early Bird’ programme is available to a limited number of unconditionally admitted candidates to either 1) the Postgraduate Diploma course (12 months) in Geo-Information Science and Earth Observation, 2) the Master’s programme (23 months) in Geo-Information Science and Earth Observation or 3) the Master’s programme in Spatial Engineering, starting in September 2025 and able to pay their tuition fees before 1 March 2025.

Eligible Master's programmes:

• Geo-information Science & Earth Observation
• Spatial Engineering

The ‘early bird’ consists of a tuition fee waiver of 40% per academic year.

If you pay the tuition fee for both academic years, the tuition fee increase in the academic year 2026-2027 (only for MSc) will not apply to you.

Applicants for the Early Bird should have an unconditional admission letter to one of the participating programmes.

Only for enrolment in the Master’s Programme: To receive the early bird waiver and also for the second academic year, awardees should have obtained a minimum of 46 credit points by the end of the first academic year.

Selected candidates will be informed ultimately on 7 February 2025. Only when the official selection has been made and the awardee confirms timely payment, the awardee will receive the adjusted invoice with a payment deadline of 1 March 2025. The payment from the awardee into the ITC’s bank account is the full responsibility of the awardee. No exceptions (e.g. any late payments) will be accepted on this programme.

Additional Requirements:

• You have been unconditionally admitted into the M-GEO (PGD or MSc) or M-SE programme
• Not eligible for support under the Dutch system of study grants and loans.
• You comply with the conditions for obtaining an entry visa in the Netherlands
• First-time enrolment at the University of Twente
• The applicant confirms to be in the position of paying the costs of the tuition fee before the payment deadline. Only for MSc: To receive the early bird waiver also for the second academic year, awardees should obtain a minimum of 46 credit points by the end of the first academic year.

First, you must have applied for the Postgraduate Diploma Course or Master’s in Geo-information Science and Earth Observation or the Master’s in Spatial Engineering through the online application system and have received an academic acceptance letter.

If subsequently, you are interested (and eligible) to apply to ITC’s Early Bird, you will have to submit the completed application form.

Please upload your motivation letter in English. Your motivation may contain several subjects, such as a clear motivation of goals and a motivation for taking the master's programme of choice.

Please upload your CV in English, you can use the format from Europass if you find this helpful. It is not mandatory to use the Europass format, you are free to make and create your own CV.

A bachelor’s degree certificate or an equivalent qualification certificate (if available)

An official transcript of records or preliminary transcript of records in Dutch or English 

A certified official translation of your bachelor’s degree certificate and transcript of records if not in Dutch or English.
