The Scuola Galileiana di Studi Superiori (Galilean School of Higher Education) is the University of Padua’s school of excellence. It combines traditional university education with a series of special in-house courses comprising seminars and lectures by renowned international visiting professors. 

International students can apply to the Galilean School’s master program. If you are admitted, you will attend both the course units at the University of Padua and the internal courses of the Galilean School, and you will be provided with free board and housing, language courses and personal study and career tutoring. As an international student, you may additionally be offered a reimbursement of travel expenses and a grant. You are expected to share rights and duties of all Galilean students. 

Available degree programmes: you may choose any Master's degree program offered by the University of Padua. The Master’s degree program that you choose will determine which of the Galilean School’s Classes you can apply to.

Galilean School of Higher Education Scholarships Coverage

The scholarship package includes: free board and accommodation at University of Padova canteens and residences; reimbursement of documented expenses such as books, study trips etc; a €2,500.00 grant; 1 round trip ticket from/to your home country (up to €1,500.00) per academic year.

Galilean School of Higher Education Scholarships Eligibility Criteria

  • Hold (or are expected to obtain one within the deadlines of the chosen program at the University of Padua) a Bachelor's degree or are enrolled in a single-cycle Master’s Degree program 
  • Have been admitted or are eligible to be admitted to a Master's degree program or at the 4th year of a single-cycle Master’s Degree program at the University of Padua; 
  • Have not turned 25 or older at the time of application.

How to Apply for Galilean School of Higher Education Scholarships

The application for admission to the selection must be completed online from 12:00 on March 25, 2025, until 12:00 on May 31, 2025

Fill the application form to apply for the selection for a Class of the School and provide the documents required 

Have a referee send a reference letter to scuola.galileiana@unipd.it

Wait for the first phase of the selection to be completed (candidates’ profile evaluation), and take part in an interview if admitted to the second phase.

Additionally, the candidate must provide the following documentation:

  • Curriculum vitae in European format
  • List of university exams taken with grades obtained
  • Motivational letter of maximum 4,000 characters including spaces, containing the reasons for choosing the selected
    master's degree program, for choosing the University of Padua and the Galilean School of Advanced Studies.
  •  Cover letter (written and sent by a university professor by 3 June 2025 to scuola.galileiana@unipd.it, with the subject “Master's Degree Admission:” followed by the candidate's name)

All documents submitted must be in Italian or English.

Who Can Apply for Galilean School of Higher Education Scholarships
