St Catharine’s College Benavitch Scholarship for MFin students

Thanks to a generous bequest from the late Maurice and Natalie Benavitch, St Catharine’s offers up to 5 scholarships. Each worth up to £15,000, they are awarded to outstanding MFin and MBA candidates at Cambridge Judge Business School.

The scholarships are awarded on the basis of merit. They are intended for candidates who will become leaders in the practice or study of management, business or finance.

Recipients of the Benavitch Scholarships will become members of St Catharine’s College, around five minutes’ walk from Cambridge Judge Business School. They will become members of the College’s Middle Combination Room, the society for graduate students of the College.

Benavitch Scholarship Coverage

Up to £15,000

Late Maurice and Natalie Benavitch, St Catharine’s offers up to 5 scholarships. Each worth up to £15,000, they are awarded to outstanding MFin and MBA candidates at Cambridge Judge Business School.

Benavitch Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

To qualify you will need to have:

  • A first-class degree, GPA above 3.7 (out of 4) or equivalent from a recognised university
  • 2 years’ full-time post-graduation work experience

How to Apply for Benavitch Scholarship

Once you have accepted your place on the Cambridge MFin, please inform the Admissions Office that you would like to apply for St Catharine’s college and the Benavitch Scholarship.

You will need to submit a 300-word essay outlining the contribution you expect to make to business and society in the future.

References

  • You’ll need to provide 2 references for your MFin application:
    • Professional reference from your line manager or supervisor
    • Academic reference

  • Please provide your referees’ work emails, so school can send them an automated reference request from the application portal. School cannot accept references sent from personal email accounts.

  • If you are unable to provide a reference from your current supervisor, please contact Admissions Team (mfin-enquiries@jbs.cam.ac.uk).

  • If you are unable to provide an academic reference, for example if you graduated some time ago, please provide an explanation in the ‘Additional Information’ section of the application form.

  • Once you have submitted your application, you will be able to track your references online.

Transcripts

  • A copy of your previous degree transcripts  
  • Have your academic transcripts and certificates ready, evidence of professional development and other details to support your application.  
  • Please upload a copy of your degree transcript (front and back pages) in the academic information section of online application form.
  • If your documents are not in English, you must upload a full translation of each document, prepared by a registered translator. Do not translate the documents yourself.
