When you guys say good SOP, how do you judge yourself? Do you give it to someone to evaluate? Personally I've evaluated my friends' SOP's but I'm not very confident about whom I could rely on so I would love some suggestions.
Also, to what extent would you specify your personal hurdles? My various personal issues led me to my decision of pursuing masters so should I mention those? Should I mention motherhood as the reason for the gap between my last employment and MS application? Will having a child reflect negatively in my application?
