How to Apply at University of Washington
The University of Washington application for first-year autumn admission opens on September 1 each year. You may apply to the UW using one of two applications — ApplyWeb or the Common App. Please apply with only one application. The University of Washington does not have a preference for an application platform. Both deadlines are November 15, and decisions will be released March 1–15.
You must create an account first on the University of Washington admissions website. Once you have created an account, you can begin the application process. The application process includes the following steps:
- Submit an application form. The application form asks for basic information about you, such as your name, date of birth, and contact information. Answering a few questions about your academic interests and goals would be best.
- Self-report your courses and complete CADRs. All freshman applicants will self-report their courses on the application. - Choose your program. If your first-choice major participates in Direct Major or Direct to College admission, select it as your first choice on the application to be automatically considered. Second-choice majors are not considered for direct admission programs.

- Submit standardized test scores. Depending on the program and degree level, you may need to submit standardized test scores such as the SAT or ACT for undergraduate admissions or the GRE or GMAT for graduate admissions. Check the specific requirements for your program. You can take the respective exams at a testing centre near you.
- Write an essay/personal statement. The UW requires all applicants to write an essay/personal statement. The essay should be 500 words long and discuss your academic interests, goals, and why you want to attend UW.
- Submit letters of recommendation. UW requires two letters of recommendation. The letters should be from teachers or other professionals who can speak to your academic abilities and potential (Sometimes optional).
- Pay the Application Fee. Submit the required application fee as specified on the university's website. Fee waivers may be available for eligible applicants, so check if you qualify.

There are many ways to get around the City of the University of Washington. Here are a few options:
