SEVIS Fee Receipt requirement for biometrics appointment

Hi,

Is the SEVIS Fee receipt required on the day of US F1 Visa biometric appointment? I have a correction to be made on my profile on the biometrics day and was thinking whether it is fine to pay the SEVIS Fee after the biometrics. I am planning to keep a gap of 10 days between the biometric and the interview day so that the SEVIS payment is reflected on my profile.
