SCAD is ranked among the 25 best design schools of the world, with notable alumni and a design centric learning environment.

However NYIT is ranked 151 globally. The location of the university is a plus point but the living expenses will stoop up too due to the location.

SCAD is a college focusing majorly on design education and provides a fostering environment for the same, whereas NYIT is a public university with a college of arts & sciences along with many other colleges offering different programs. I would suggest that you have a thorough look at the curriculum of both programs and the one that aligns the most with your future professional goals is the one you should go for.
