Any NYU department will give the same opportunity. And yes my opinion remains the same considering ROI. Whether anyone agrees or not, the influence and reputation of the University matters alot and everyone very well knows that NYU has maintained it's reputation for many years.

NYU Tandon and NEU are exactly the same. If you are choosing between them, pick one which is cheaper.
However in terms of reputation of CS program, SBU trumps them both. This is on the basis of my conversation with people on reddit. Everyone had something to criticise about NEU but they were all praise for SBU's CS and the reputation it holds. Negative thing about SBU is their TAships which are rare but since its very cheap, shouldn't be a problem.

I believe word of mouth > ranking websites. Also NEU's 60k fees and NYU's 70k fees doesn't help this comparison in terms of ROI. NEU is mainly famous for its coop not its CS program but to avail coop you have to be there for 2.5 years which IMO is way too long for a grad school.

Also I have an admit from both NEU Boston MS CS and SBU MS CS, so not biased against NEU or anything.

It's surprising how people are voting Tandon and Northeastern over SUNY Stony Brook. Please go with Stony Brook and instead follow Reddit communities where people are way more informed and helpful.

Stony Brook CS department is way better and also very well-reputed in industry and in academia. Especially with “trendy” areas like AI/ML when compared with with the other two. Among the CS schools that rank outside the topmost ones like the Big 4 and the top 10/15, Stony Brook is usually rated very well. Also the cost!

Nyu is a brand. I remember my brother saying that his interviewer was impressed by the university he attended. Courant or Tandon doesn't matter as at the end of the day you will have NYU in your CV. NEU is a good University but it consists a mix of both avg and good students and the batch size is also huge su high competition but the good thing about NEU is it's co-op program. But I would still suggest NYU. This is my personal opinion.

CS course in NYU is highly reputed throughout the country. It stands in top 50 for CS. Also, graduate employbility rank is 16, in the world.

For those who do not know, NYU offers mscs in two colleges courant and tandon. Courant is highly reputed and research focused, also the most difficult to get in which, is situated at NYU main campus near the iconic washington square park in manhatten. Whereas tandon is industry focused and a separate building with its own faculty located about 3.5 miles away from NYU main campus near brooklyn heights. I hope this info helps.
