Do i have oppourtunity to change the stream for my masters from ECE to data science or CS

Question

currently im pursuing my btech in ECE dept do i have a chance to study in abroad by changing my stream to cs or data science or cybersecurity

If your interest is towards Data Science I would suggest you to apply to schools having a Master's in Data Science program. Since the competition for specialized programs are less compared to generalized programs. For CS too you can definitely consider applying but since this Fall witnessed an intense competition for CS seats at top schools with major focus on applicant's undergraduate major and gpa, its highly likely that this trend will continue for next Fall as well. But you can leverage your LORs, SOP to stand out.

Almost all universities accept grads switching from ECE to CS/DS/Cybersecurity. It depends on your profile.

Hi Karthik,

Yes, its very easy in USA unlike other countries. Afterall, ECE and CS both are circuit courses.
To switch between various courses is up to an individual's interest provided you have valid answer when you are asked for reason.
I've seen people switching from ECE to computer science and doing better than others. When you're applying for transfer you should at least have some background knowledge to the area you're switching and a very strong SOP.
