Can I study in Germany without a blocked account?

Is creating a blocked amount a mandatory requirement to study in Germany or are there alternatives for this? If anyone has any idea please share insights on how to study in Germany without a blocked account. #Germany

It is possible for international students to apply and get the German student visa without a blocked bank account. The alternative is Verpflichtungserklärung or Formal Obligation Letter from the host, who is living in Germany. Host can be a family member, relative or friend who has to fulfill certain requirements to get this official document from German foreign office. Host must not be a German citizen nor he/she is required to have permanent residence in Germany. you’ll need someone who lives in Germany and can support you financially. Only then, it is possible for you to study in Germany without the need of having blocked account. You’ll need a sponsor certificate which He/she can get from the German authorities.
If you don’t have someone then it is mandatory to have a blocked account. The purpose of blocked account is to show that you are financially strong and can support yourself in Germany. 8640 Euros is the minimum amount required in your blocked account for a year.
