Transportation in the city
The main means of public transport is the bus. Students of Gottingen University get to travel free of charge if they have a valid identity card. Students can also travel by bicycle, which is very common. Georg-August Gottingen University is only one kilometre from Gottingen Railway Station. There are also three airports nearby. The city is well connected. The nearest airport is Hannover. However, cheaper tickets are usually available at Frankfurt International Airport. Hannover Airport also has train connections.
