The University of Passau is a public university situated in Passau, Lower Bavaria, Germany. Although founded in the year 1973 its origin dates back to 1622 as Institute of Catholic studies. The University is well known for its modern campus spans along the left bank of the Inn river providing a naturally scenic study environment. The university offers 39 different undergraduate and postgraduate degree programs in four faculties – Law, Business, Economics and Information systems, Arts and Humanities and Computer science and Mathematics. All the faculties are situated on a single campus along a single street facilitating efficient internal communication of students and staff. The University of Passau has a Department of Catholic Theology that offers catholic religious education to students enrolled in M.A. program in Caritas science.
