Transportation in the city

The Mannheim main station is a major transit hub near the University of Mannheim, and it has excellent regional and long-distance railway connections. As a result, going to the University of Mannheim by local train is quite simple and convenient for students and faculty members.


Services offered by the university

The University of Mannheim's magnificent campus is housed in a baroque palace that was constructed between 1720 and 1760.

  • The entire site covers six hectares of land and has a facade stretch of approximately 440 meters.
  • Many festivities, such as the Schlossfest and Schneckenhof celebrations, are held on campus to help students become more acquainted with their surroundings.
  • For a student body of over 12,000 students, the University of Mannheim has around 194 professors and 840 academic staff employees.

Student life

  • In the Mensa, you may enjoy reasonably priced set lunches and buffets and relax in the EO or Café Soleil.
  • Many festivities, such as the Schlossfest and Schneckenhof celebrations, are held on campus to help students become more acquainted with their surroundings.
  • More than 50 student organizations are joining and participating in their countless events.
  • The AStA Student Organization Fair is held at the beginning of each semester and allows students to learn about the various organizations.

On campus accomodation

The University of Mannheim does not provide students with on-campus housing, and it does, however, include a variety of different accommodation options for students. Students can also choose from a variety of private housing alternatives in Mannheim's 17 districts, all connected to the university by public transportation. 

In 16 different residential complexes, the Studierendenwerk Mannheim offers approximately 3,000 places. 

  • From shared rooms to single apartments, students can choose the type of accommodation that best suits their needs with us.
  • The rent may vary from EUR 250 (INR 20,000) to EUR 300 (INR 24000).
