Founded in 1975 to provide higher education to students, North Island College is located on the Vancouver Island of British Columbia, Canada. It is a community college whose largest campus is located in Comox Valley while the other three campuses are situated in Port Alberni, Port Hardy and Campbell River.

North Island College has all of the campuses situated on Vancouver Island. There are quite a lot of transportation options for the students such as BC Transit or carpooling. Taking a bicycle is one of the better options to travel from off-campus accommodations to the North Island College campus at Port Alberni.
North Island College, Port Alberni in Canada is not only known for its world-class faculty and infrastructure, but also for the exceptional services that are offered to all the students who study here.
At North Island College, the students are encouraged to bring out their talent apart from their studies. Exploring the campus is one of the best ways to nurture the hidden creativity of the students.
The Department of Accessible Learning Services enables students with disabilities to take part in classes and also looks after the well-being of these students at North Island College.
None of the four campuses of North Island College has any facility for on-campus accommodation for the students. They have to stay outside the campus and travel daily to attend classes at Port Alberni and other campuses.
