The Max Delbrück Center for Molecular Medicine of the Helmholtz Association (MDC) is one of the sixteen research centers that make up the Helmholtz Association of German Research Centers. It is located in Berlin, Germany. The Max Delbrück Center was founded in January 1992 as the successor of the German Academy of Sciences Berlin-funded Zentralinstitut für Molekularbiologie. The center is named after Max Delbrück, a Nobel Laureate and biophysicist who was born in Berlin. The institute focuses on multi-organ illnesses such as heart failure and combines basic and clinical molecular biology research.
