Officially known as TH Köln - University of Applied Sciences, The Cologne University of Applied Sciences was established in 1971 and is a higher education institution in Cologne, Germany.  It was renamed Trade College of the City of Cologne after being formed from the amalgamation of various lesser colleges, the oldest of which is the Royal Provincial Trade School.

The Cologne University of Applied Sciences, which has 430 professors and around 27,000 students (including various international students), is the largest university of applied sciences in Germany in terms of enrollment. The Cologne University of Applied Sciences offers 100 bachelor's & master's degree programs. The University of Cologne and the German Sport University Cologne are two of Cologne's other major universities.

Transportation in the city

The large public transportation system in Cologne makes getting about the city easy and quick. The majority of regional train stations have live departure boards and are connected to tram stops. Lifts connect the underground tram stop and Cologne's central rail station. Additionally,  several tram stops in Central Cologne have elevators. At street level, central tram stations allow for boarding. Trams and buses have designated disability priority seats, wheelchair spaces, and pram parking. Information boards in trams & buses will show the name of the upcoming stop. Buttons for opening doors are fixed at a reachable height.

All students are allowed to drive on campus, which is also served by public transportation (parking permits are required for most on-campus parking).
