The Collège Lionel-Groulx traces to be a merger of several small institutions that were made public in the year 1967 the then-new system in Quebec was created. This system was based on the CEGEPs created; the college was established on the 14th of September in the same year.

The college is named after Quebec’s historian Lionel Groulx, a former student of the seminary of the Therese. Schools included the St. Rose Business School, Normal school of St. Jerome, and Seminary of St. Therese.

College Lionel-Groulx offers the students two types of residence living: individual, gender-specific rooms and co-ed apartments.
