Clayton State University is a public university in Morrow, Georgia. It is a senior unit of the University System of Georgia and serves the metro Atlanta area. The university was founded in 1969 as Clayton Junior College and became a four-year institution in 1986. 1996 the name was changed to Clayton State College and State University. The current name, Clayton State University, was adopted in 2005.
