Armstrong Atlantic State University, a public university is a proud part of the University System of Georgia. It was founded in the early parts of 1930’s and since then has grown expansively. Pirates and Lady Pirates are the nicknames that have become popular and Captain George is the mascot of the University.
The University carries complete accreditation from the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. Also, the Military Times honored the University on the 7th spot as the Best for Vets, in their Colleges 2016 list.

Campus

Location

The 270 acre campus is located in downtown Savannah, Georgia, Unite States of America. The most attractive part about this location is the Tybee Island beaches which are at a distance of about 40 km’s from the campus.

Campus

The campus is nothing but a visual delight. It is draped in oak trees and blossoming flowers. The nearly 270 acre campus has been designed in the form of an arboretum. Therefore, there is no dearth of green spaces.
Lane Library is the central library which houses over 200,000 books, 18,000audio-visual works, and every possible journal. Journals are available in print and online forms.The much regarded Science Centre is among the most notable colleges in the University. They house state of the art technology to sustain the various programs. The Students Union building is the first green building on the campus and is evidently symbolic of the environmental concerns of the students and faculty.
The campus also takes care of most of the student’s needs. Moreover, it is also well equipped to cater to security and emergency needs of students. The campus is well lit and the pathways are marked with signboards. There are also security personnel on patrol 25/7.

Residing Options

Housing is available for about 1,400 students. For this purpose four residential complexes are present: Compass Point; University Crossing; University Terraces and Windward Commons. They are constructed in the form of apartments and house everything that a student might require.

Faculty
