The university offers a variety of transportation options to its students to travel safely and reliably. The network of transportation in and around the University of New Haven campus is robust and assists students to travel to their destinations quickly.  

  • Free UNH shuttle services are available for students to travel to downtown New Haven, Greater New Haven, and West Haven areas. 
  • Students can avail ChargerGo bus services to reach the main UNH campus. Alternatively, they can take ZipCar on campus to travel with co-passengers on a shared fair.
  • The UNH campus is well connected to the MTA Metro-North and AMTRAK railroads. Similarly, students can also avail of the Bridgeport ferry to reach the university campus. 
  • Student Housing Shuttles & Vans and Orange Campus Shuttles are available for students to travel from their accommodation to the various UNH campuses.

The university offers a variety of services such as nonremedial tutoring, health service, placement service, and recreational and library facilities to help students pursue the various University of New Haven courses. 

  • Library - The Marvin K. Peterson Library at the University of New Haven holds a collection of more than 400,000 books and digital and electronic resources. UNH students can use the charger and MyChart apps to book doctor’s appointments. 
  • Sports - The sports team at the university is known as the Chargers and their mascot is called Charlie the Charger. UNH is an athletic member of the glorious NCAA Division II and Northeast-10 Conference. The University of New Haven athletics had an effective academic year by posting more than 150 wins across their 18 varsity sports, with more than 300 student-athletes named to the Northeast-10 Academic Honor Roll.

These extracurricular activities include writing for the official university newspaper named ‘The Charger Bulletin’ and broadcasting on the WNHU 88.7 FM campus radio channel.

David A. Beckerman Recreation Center is the largest recreational center at the UNH campus, also referred to as the ‘ChargerREC’. It offers 20 different intramural programs and 35 fitness clubs.
