For undergraduate admissions, applicants must apply via Politecnico di Milano’s official admissions portal. Required documents typically include academic transcripts, personal statement, passport copy, and English language certification. Admission is highly competitive and is generally for engineering or design-related disciplines.
For postgraduate programs, including Master’s, MBA, Executive MBA, and Specialized Master’s programs, applicants apply directly through the POLIMI Graduate School of Management website. The process usually involves submitting a CV, academic transcripts, a motivation letter, two references, proof of English proficiency, and in some cases, GMAT/GRE scores or the POLIMI GSoM test. Interviews may be conducted for shortlisted candidates.
Visa Requirements:
International students must obtain a Type D (National) Student Visa to study in Italy. To apply, students must first secure an admission letter, provide proof of accommodation, demonstrate sufficient financial resources, and show proof of health insurance and English language proficiency. A declaration of value (DOV) or CIMEA certification for prior degrees may also be required.
Scholarships:
POLIMI GSoM offers a variety of merit-based scholarships and tuition fee waivers to international students. These include:
-
Merit-Based Scholarships (awarded based on academic performance, leadership potential, and test scores)
-
Women in Leadership Scholarships (encouraging diversity in business education)
-
Country-Specific Scholarships (for applicants from certain regions or emerging economies)
-
External funding options through Italian government grants and Erasmus+ are also available for eligible students.
Language Proficiency:
Non-native English speakers must provide valid English proficiency scores through IELTS, TOEFL, or equivalent tests unless their previous education was conducted entirely in English. Some programs may also offer Italian-taught components for which basic Italian proficiency is recommended.
