The tramway system in Montpellier is the best mode of public transportation for getting around Montpellier, visiting many nearby tourist attractions, and generally getting to know the area from a new perspective. The tramway system is a part of the Montpellier Metropole transport network, managed by TaM. With this change, Montpellier Métropole becomes the first French metropolitan to provide its residents free public transportation.
