The Kutztown University is located in a rural Pennsylvania area, Kutztown. Kutztown is one of the boroughs in the Berks Country and has a total population of about 5000 as per the 2010 census. The transport and subway system is also not something the town will be proud of.
Apart from a few restaurants and the Kutztown Folk Festivals, there isn’t much to visit or have a fun outing- unless you are in a mood to make the 18 miles journey to Allentown. Then there are plenty of places to visit and explore the city life. And in case you are a party animal, you can always take the 2-hour drive to New York City.

The campus has many special facilities, including a planetarium, observatory, student-operated radio stations outside the classrooms. There are nearly 15 computer labs having more than 500 systems. In addition, there is a learning center, cartography lab and a full-fledged library with books covering every topic of academic interest.
Kutztown University has recently employed a shuttle service also. It serves the campus when school is in session and is free to the students having a valid College ID.

Residing Options

The Kutztown University has a rural setting with a campus area of 326 acres. More than half of the full-time students prefer to live off-campus. The university has more than 14 residential buildings out of which six are co-ed.
There are also three apartment-style housing complexes (co-ed as well), all of which can accommodate up to 4400 students. All the on-campus residing halls have full internet, cable TV and phone access.

Kutztown University of Pennsylvania has a high student-faculty ratio of 20:1. Add to that, the high percentage of classes with students in bulk. According to the Princeton Review, only 22% of the total classes have students less than 20.
The professors are helpful but the accent is a bit challenging to understand. The graduation rate is equally low and disappointing at a mere 38 percent. Most of the students, however, blame the strict deadlines and the academic study course for it.

Jobs and placements

The university has an on-campus selectivity ranking of about 80 percent. However, most of these students take a masters’ degree or a student-job at the university itself. The degree is not too that much recognized internationally and the average post-graduation median salary of the employed students is quite low to moderate.
KU adopts a semester-based academic calendar and twice a year eventual placements but in terms of on-campus selections, it certainly suffers a lot.
