Amherst is a private liberal arts college situated in Amherst, Massachusetts. The college was established in 1821 where it stands as one of the oldest institutions of higher learning in Massachusetts. It offers major courses in Economics, Mathematics, Research, and Experimental Psychology; from which each student can choose courses from 38 major programs in an open curriculum.

Amherst has a well-established reputation at both national and international levels. Nationally, the college was ranked as the best liberal arts college for 2018–19 by The Wall Street Journal. Similarly, the U.S. News & World Report ranked Amherst the second best liberal arts college. It occupied #16 out of all U.S. colleges and universities according to Forbes in their 2018 rankings.

Amherst College is located in Amherst, Massachusetts, United States. Its campus features a rural setting locked up in a 1,000 acres of land. The town is very lively and has a large population of about 37,000 inhabitants. It features lots of basic amenities within its metropolis. Transport services are okay and reliable. This includes Peter Pan Bus Lines, Megabus, as well as Amtrak rail service which connect places between St. Albans, Vermont and Washington D.C.

More so, there are lots of places that can serve as points of interest to students. One of such is the Amherst Cinema Arts Center which is a local non-profit theater showing mostly independent films and art-house. The town has a number of museums such as the Beneski Museum of Natural History, Emily Dickinson Museum as well as Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art.  In addition, there are a good number of malls, stores and other commercial centers where shopping can be made with ease.
