You can register for the SAT in 2 ways: Online and by mail. When doing it online, create an account on College Board, select your date and the test centre depending on your location and convenience. Pay the fee, and voila! You’re registered for the SAT.
The SAT registration involves 5-6 steps, so make sure you don’t miss out on any step and complete the process seamlessly.
Here are the steps you need to follow:
- Step 1: Go to the www.collegeboard.org website and create an account.
- Step 2: Fill in your necessary details - personal and academic information.
- Step 3: Choose your convenient date and test centre.
- Step 4: Upload a recent, passport-size photograph for verification. This is essential because your photo will be present on the SAT ticket needed on the exam date.
- Step 5: Pay the application fee, which is USD 111 (or INR 9500). Pay it securely via credit or debit card. If you’re eligible for a fee waiver, this is when you apply for it.
- Step 6: Review your application, double-check all details and submit. When confirmed, you’ll get an email with your SAT ticket and test centre details.
In case you’re registering via mail, you need to procure the “Student Registration Guide for the SAT” from your school counsellor. This usually contains a form and a return envelope. Fill out the form, attach a recent passport-size photograph, pay your fee through a demand draft, and mail the application.
Yocket Tip: Make sure you print your SAT exam ticket and carry it along with you on the day of the exam. This will avoid any last-minute hassles and help you with easy access to the exam centre.
