  • For a Schengen visa, the cost to start the Netherlands student visa process is 80 EUR, i.e. 6,782 INR. For students belonging to Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Russia, the fee is 35 EUR.
  • Students planning for a long stay permit need to pay a fee of 207 EUR, i.e. 17,550 INR. The same amount is to be paid if you are planning to extend your stay in the Netherlands.
  • If in case of loss, damage of the document, one needs to pay an amount of 142 EUR.

When to Apply for a Netherlands Study Visa?

Once you have been accepted by any Dutch university to study in the Netherlands, you will need to process your entry visa (MVV). The entire Netherlands study visa process usually takes around 60-90 days to complete. How to Apply for a Residence Permit (VVR) in the Netherlands?

To stay in the Netherlands for more than 90 days, international students require a permit for a specific period (VVR). Just like the Netherlands study visa, the VVR also has a specific purpose. Upon arrival in the Netherlands, students have to visit the local IND desk to either receive the residence card or to provide biometric information in order to complete the residence permit. You will be informed that you can pick up the residence card from the regional IND desk within two weeks.

The VVR is issued for a period of 5 years maximum. If the VVR is expired, a new VVR must be requested along with an application for whichever reason you are staying.
