Visa Interview Experience:

Reached there around 10AM and stood in the queue for almost 30mins before entering the building. Stood for 45mins inside the interview hall and then my turn came at around 11.15AM.

Interviewer: Chinese guy(no smile, no wishes, nothing)
Approved tourist visa to a lady who was standing in front of me. So I was happy(inside) that my visa would be granted..

ME: Good morning sir!(My only smile during the whole process and of course it was a fake smile)
VO: Passport please. Oh F1! Pass your I-20
VO: So which university?
ME:
UTD

VO: Which universities did you apply for?
ME:
2 other, ASU and TAMU.

VO: Why UTD?
ME:
Mainly for their course...Aim is to pursue knowledge in VLSI. UTD offers not only VLSI but also Analog, Digital IC design, SoC Design & Testing, RF design etc.

VO: Why VLSI?
ME:
Want to start up a firm here in INDIA based on my projects. Done projects that help*** Already developed the software algorithm. Now looking to develop the hardware part so that I can launch it as a product.
*pausing me*

VO: Education in which field?
ME:
BE in EEE.

VO: How are you going to fund?
ME:
My parents would be sponsoring my expenses

VO: What does your father do?
ME:
He is a Professor in Mathematics department,*** University.

VO: Annual income?
ME: Approx 20k$
*starting to explain about my mother's occupation & my savings of 82k$. He paused me*

VO: Unfortunately we cannot issue you visa this time due to non-immigrant laws...I'm issuing 214b..Thank you.
