Palacky University is the second oldest university in the Czech Republic. It is the oldest university in Moravia, established as a public university after the Jesuit offer in Olomouc in 1573. It is accredited by the Association of Medical Schools in Europe (AMSE) and the European University Association (EAU). 

The university comprises more than 21,000 students and welcomes 4,000 international students across 106 countries. Palacky University courses are available at bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degree levels. There are about eight faculties at the university in the fields of Arts, Law, Saints Cyril and Methodius Faculty of Theology, Medicine and Dentistry, Education, Health Sciences, Physical Culture, and Science. Transportation in the city

The students at the campus can travel to the premises by trams, buses, coaches, and trains. Tram numbers 2,4 and 6 are available for the students and staff members to travel to the university. The students who travel by car can park their vehicles in the public parking spaces in the city centre.
