Founded in 1991, Ostrava University is a public research university that educates nearly 9,000 students in six faculties. Ostrava University has 263 doctoral students and the faculty of science, faculty of fine arts, faculty of arts, faculty of medicine, faculty of social studies along with faculty of education offer a wide variety of unconventional combinations of majors.
