Transportation in the city
The building of central public transport is located on Novobranska Street close to the train station and is only a short walk from Freedom Square. The transport pass can be purchased online and the transport system consists of city buses, trams, and trolleybuses.
Services offered by the university
- The facilities of the university include libraries, sports facilities (gyms, rowing center, indoor and outdoor tennis courts), a university cinema, a botanical garden, and several student clubs at the individual faculties.
- The university opened the Mendel Museum and created an exhibition ground that is dedicated to the popularization of scientific work along with the life of Gregor Johann Mendel who conducted experiments in the Augustinian abbey where the museum is located now.
- The University Cinema Scala is operated by Masaryk University as the first university cinema in the Czech Republic.

- The International Student Club (ESN) on the campus sponsors and promotes activities to help the exchange students transition into life at Masaryk.
