Bowie State University is a public university in Maryland. It is a predominantly black university and one of Maryland’s oldest. 29 undergraduate majors, 20 master's programs, 3 doctoral programs, and 20 certificate programs are offered here in various majors. It was the first university nationally to offer pedology. The university is divided into the following: College of Arts and Sciences, College of Business, College of Education, and College of Professional Studies.
