What are the job prospects after Ph.D. in Germany?

Hello, I really wanted to know about the jobs available in Germany after completing my Ph.D. I am planning to apply for a Ph.D. specialization in Mechanical Engineering next year. And will be looking for job opportunities in Germany after the Ph.D. Thus any insights about the professional prospects for international Ph.D. candidates will be #phd #masters

Nearly all PhD- holders I know of (mainly electrical engineering and computer science) changed into industry after receiving their PhD.

Just one came back from industry (or, more precise: from a venture capital company) into a teaching job.

And yes, it's much easier to get a job in industry (especially in technology- related studies), and those jobs are usually better paid.

For a decent job in research or as professor you need a lot of papers written (and accepted), good connections and enough money to bridge many underpaid post-doc years…
