Overview

The Department of Computer Science offers B.S. and B.A. degree programs, as well as three combined majors in cooperation with other departments: Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Computer Science and Mathematics, and Computer Science and Psychology with the core courses covering discrete mathematics, data structures, systems programming, computer architecture, algorithm analysis and design. The programs share a common core of five computer science courses, discrete mathematics, data structures, systems programming and computer architecture, and algorithm analysis and design.

The middle 50% of test scores (the 25th to the 75th percentiles) for enrolled first-years are as follows:

  • SAT-Evidence-Based Reading and Writing: 720-770
  • SAT-Math: 740-790
  • ACT Composite: 33-35

TOEFL:TOEFL iBT:100 on the internet-based

IELTS: 7 or higher score

PTE: 70 or higher score

  • SAT Subject Tests are not required for admission but are recommended.

Interviews -

Yale encourages applicants to have a conversation with a Yale interviewer if possible, but an interview is not a required part of the application process. Interviews are conducted by volunteer members of the Yale Alumni Schools Committees (ASC), which are based in many locations throughout the world.
