BS in Computer Engineering
University of Alberta, Edmonton

Computer Engineering program provides you with a broad background in the theory and application of hardware and software technologies. As a result, graduates are qualified for positions ranging from traditional computer engineering positions to positions often associated with electrical engineering. Through the Co-op program, you will have the opportunity to complete paid, supervised work terms throughout your degree. Co-op programs are a great way to challenge yourself, gain relevant work experience, and make connections to industry before you graduate.

Most co-op programs include five work terms lasting four months each, in addition to the usual eight terms (four years) of full-time study. Therefore, co-op programs require five years to complete. This program does not allow admission directly from high school. All students in the Qualifying Year in the Faculty of Engineering follow a common curriculum in their first year. At the end of the first year, students choose among the various specialized Engineering programs offered and between the traditional and cooperative education streams.
