Do we require a birth certificate for F1 visa? and if not then is it required in US for any other purpose I am asking it because my place of birth on passport and birth certificate is different and I am afraid to re issue my passport at this point of time when admission is going on please help me out

@ROHITBHARGAVP In the last few years I have seen at least more than ten friends and relatives go to USA under F-1 visa and none of them required a birth certificate. Passport is the only document for identity required.
