Transportation in the city

NYU Tandon School of Engineering is located in Brooklyn, New York, United States, and the distance between the city and the university is less than four miles. Students can travel to the university by bus, subway, and train. A subway line lasts for 26 minutes and costs less than 3 USD (319 INR) while a bus journey lasts for 25 minutes and costs less than 7 USD (559 INR). Students can also travel by taxi which lasts for 8 minutes and costs between 26 to 31 USD (2076 to 2475 INR). Additionally, the university has NYU Shuttle Bus service which offers transportation within the city.

  • NYU Tandon School of Engineering carries out its educational processes through technologically equipped classrooms that facilitate in-person and online teaching. Additionally, students can also access numerous conference rooms, student study spaces, and a student lounge. 
  • The Bern Dibner Library of Science and Technology offers students over 190,000 titles, 200,000 volumes, numerous serials, online databases, CD-ROM learning tools, and multimedia resources along with access to the Online Computer Library Center’s international database with over 4,000 participating libraries.
  • The university’s Academic Advisement Center provides academic counseling and campus resources for additional support and guidance on any institute-related issues. Additionally, the Polytechnic Tutoring Center offers personalized tutoring for selective courses. 
  • The MakerSpace, a 10,000 square feet provision with advanced software and milling machines to 3D printers and integrated manufacturing facilities allows students to innovate, collaborate, and create.

  • Students and faculty members are also offered future labs, a NanoFab clean room, a digital media room, and a computer lab, to name a few.

Student life

  • The university is home to over 40 student clubs representing cultural, academic, political, professional, religious, spiritual, service, social, and recreational interests.
  • Counseling and Wellness Services offers individual counseling, group counseling, wellness workshops, referrals to long-term services in the community, and long-term psychiatric medication services on-campus. Almost all counseling services are provided free of cost. 
  • Equipped with a variety of training equipment, students can access athletic facilities like the aerobic fitness rooms, gymnasium, physical fitness room, and men’s and women’s locker rooms. 
  • Additional services provided by the university include Safe Ride vans, transit discounts, sexual health awareness and prevention, lactation room, menstrual hygiene products, chaplain, and locker rentals, to name a few.

On campus accomodation

NYU Tandon School of Engineering offers on-campus housing through its two residential halls that offer both traditional and apartment-style suites. 

  • NYU Tandon School of Engineering offers accommodation through Othmer Hall and St. George Clark Hall. 
  • Located in Downtown Brooklyn, the Othmer Residence Hall houses students in both traditional and apartment-style suites. The residence offers a student lounge on each floor and laundry facilities in the basement. Students staying in this hall are required to maintain a minimum meal plan. 
  • Located in the Brooklyn Heights neighborhood, the renovated St. George Clark Residence Hall houses its students in suites that include a refrigerator, microwave, and TV. The residence offers a community kitchen and a student community center where students can access the study group in the library, screening room, and play games.
