Ms after 9 years experience.

Question

Hi everyone 👋,

I have completed my graduation in 2013 , b.tech in ECE.
I have been working since then. I will have 9 years experience in IT br next Jan.

I'm thinking to do masters in US.
Will the long gap be an issue? 
Is there anyone out there who is in similar situation. Can we connect and exchange our thoughts?

9 years of experience is great. I don't have much work experience but to answer your question of a long gap - It will depend on the degree you wish to pursue. 
If you are planning to pursue a career in a tech degree like MS CS or MIS:
 Most companies would look at your profile for a full time even if you apply for an internship position. Interviews would be tough than normal. Expectations will be high from you. You won't qualify for an entry or may be even a mid-level position. Interviews would revolve around production-level system design and higher-level questions.
If you are planning to pursue a career in management like MEM or MBA(my recommendation for you) :
MBA is based on work experience. A 9-year work experience would look great. No disadvantage at all. You can start with an associate manager or higher position that fits your skill level.
