Is GMAT more difficult than CAT?

Both GMAT and CAT exams are fundamentally same and used for admission to MBA colleges. But is GMAT tough or CAT exam? Any insights from anyone who has prepared or appeared for both. #GMAT

GMAT is a adaptive test. So the level of difficulty of the questions change based on whether you are getting your answers correct or incorrect. So if you are scoring low in GMAT then the questions are comparatively easy as compared to when you are scoring high. It is difficult to compare the two papers as the difficulty level of CAT changes every year, but at a score of 720 to 750 the the level of difficulty of questions in GMAT are similar to that of CAT. More than 750, the level of difficulty of GMAT questions - especially the DS questions is higher than that of CAT whereas at scores lower than 720 the level of difficulty of GMAT questions are easier than that of CAT.

It is also known that it is difficult to score in Verbal as compared to Quant in the GMAT exam. The reverse is true for CAT where an average student find it difficult to score in Quant.

Practically it does not matter. If you plan to go abroad or do an executive MBA from India then GMAT is the exam you should write, whereas if you want to pursue 2 year MBA from India then CAT is preferred. IF possible you can write both exams and try and keep your options open.
