How much do extracurriculars matter? Confused about SOP inclusions

Long story short I want to apply for MS CS in USA/Canada. I have a GPA of 8/10. I have headed my university’s literary clubs and I was also involved with the media club. My question is should I emphasise this in my SOP? If yes, to what extent? Will it give me an edge in any aspect? (Considering it can vouch for my leadership and organisational skillset)
