Did anyone with a similar profile get a good university, with such a low CGPA but a pretty decent GRE score ?

@Prashant Sharma One word for you: DISCONNECT. No TV..No phone..no internet.. and a lot of practice-practice-practice. Yes this sounds very hard but after having a very poor CGPA, I decided to give everything I had. It should take over your mind, believe me, the joy after scoring 325+ is something else man.

Write a strong SOP, which briefly tells why you got low GPA. Try and justify it. I know it's gonna eat up your precious resource, word count, but it is the only chance you have. Some universities don't even look at your documents if you have low GPA (Syr, UTD sometimes)

I think not, as SJSU requires Wes evaluation. It's below 2.75..
