Me: I am from Instrumentation Background. (didn't waste a single second to respond. Still hope is intact)

Me: By using Ohm meter.
VO: How you are going to fund your education?
Me: I have taken a loan of XX lakhs, University has awarded a scholarship of $15000. More over, I have some of my savings and if needed, my mom is ready to help me.
VO: From which bank you have taken loan?
Me: Xx bank.
VO: What does your mother do?
Me: She is a house wife.
VO: (Raised his eyebrows in anticipation of an answer)
Me: Actually my dad had been saving for my education. After he passed away, my mom started. vo interrupted..
VO: What is the total family savings?
Me: XX lakhs.
VO: I am approvingly your Visa. Enjoy your stay at Penn state.
Me: (by this time I realized what he was asking initially) Sir, answer to your 3rd question is 8.
