One mistake I have done is I had seen what school one guy had got which messed up my whole interview.

ME: Good morning mam
VO: Good morning, please pass me your passport, i20.

VO: Why this university?
ME: (fumbled) Its for two main reason, I want to specialize in machine learning, and this university is offering this course, so I choose this university.
**typing something**

VO: What’s second reason?
ME: Because of one Professor Racheal.

VO: Did you mail her regarding this?
ME: No ma’am.

VO: Why not?
ME: Because I felt she would be very busy.

VO: Okay but you should have mailed(** typing typing), who's sponsoring you?
ME: I have educational loan and rest parents are sponsoring.

VO: What does your dad do?
ME: He's doctor.

VO: And your mother?
ME: We own hospital and she's manager there.
*evrything was fine till here I feel*

VO: How many admits?
ME: 3.

VO: Name them.
ME: Drexel, USC( I got USF got confused because of nervousness), UNH

VO: *looked surprised** again why this university?
ME: Ma’am same as I said before.

I was damn scared. I knew I would get rejected.
She took 214(b) form n gave it to me, I didn’t speak anythng knowing my mistake came out.

I was calm. I was keeping myself in positive hopes. Didn’t look at anyone's i20 this time.

VO in her late 40's
ME: Good morning officer
VO: Good morning, how are you?
ME: I'm good. How are you?

VO: Good, pass me your passport.
ME: Sure (passed).

VO: Why this university?
ME: I would want to specialize in machine learning. Drexel is offering best coursework which aligns my area of interest.

VO: Your GRE score?
ME: 297 with Q:155

VO: Your gpa?
ME: 7.4 on scale of 10

VO: Okay, what do you want to do after your masters?
ME: I would want to come back to India and search for job.

VO: What kind of job do you get?
ME: Software Engineering.

VO: continuously typing, took 214(b) slip I'm really sorry I know its very disappointing, but you don’t qualify according to US immigrant law.
ME: Ma’am may I know reason?

VO: I feel same as my previous collegue
ME: Ma’am please tell me specify reason so that I can improve.

VO: Sorry ma’am we can't reveal it.
ME: Okay ma’am and left the place.
