Depends on the city and the living standard you are used to.

Worst case: Munich, no flat mates, central location to avoid commuting or commuting by car, eating out, no job, extra expenses for study program (books, materials, …)

Best case: somewhere in a small city, central location to avoid commuting, some flat mates who also share in cooking, two student jobs 10h per week each, no extra expenses

you could manage to break even or even send money home

I would calculate around 400 Euros per month to be on the safe side, but it can be done cheaper, if you know what you are doing. Be warned though, in some cities 400 Euros is rent only, and only if you are lucky.
