University of Houston is ranked much higher than UofM in both QS (CS rankings) and the USNews rankings. In fact, the QS ranking doesnt even consider memphis amongst the top unis. The living costs for UHCL is also a bit cheaper than that of UofM, and tuition fees also follows the same trends. Texas being in the south of the United States is a hot country with an overall low living expense, and its average CS engineers is about 100k usd, whereas its slightly lower in Tennessee ranking 10th, having an average salary of around 96k USD (Source- zippia). So jobs wise they are both great states, you may find a larger Indian community in Texas due to the low cost of living as well. You can know more about each unis here:
