1. Incase a company hires you they pay for relocation so if you showcase yourself well they won't mind about spending it else this can be an option to chose someone else. California has lot of opportunities since there are lot of start ups here and it's very easy to get a job.

3. Your not supposed to work for the first 9months since you have come in an F1 visa but once your done with that and if your upper deck really have some stuffs then you can find a job so easily and there are possibilities where you can convert your studies to part time and work full time.

For e.g. my computer science professor holds a doctorate in history it's not about what you study it's all about how you see this world. People here believe that doing something you love is your real strength so no matter what major you are if this world seems different to you and you enjoy doing crazy innovative things you never need to worry about a job it will come to you in no time.

You don't need a GRE for a MS in CS at Cal State LA. However make sure you have a solid SOP and LORs and apply as early as possible. At CSULA you will have atleast 6months - 1year of prerequisite before you start you master subjects so be prepared for that.

It purely depends on your interests if your ug/gre scores are low work experience always gives you an edge to get admits in good schools but if you have good standing in ur ug and can crack the GRE then don't waste time in doing a job. Your masters will take you to better heights in no time.

It's easy to get an internship in Cali as there are a lot of start ups here than any other place. Yes your work experience give you an edge over freshers but an internship is never guaranteed. To my experience they don't really see how well you code, it's all about how confident you are and how well you manage the situations. Cracking an interview is never easy as like in India even for an on campus job they will take the life out of you lol.

USC is one good school to get into and also LA is one of the costliest city to live in so just be prepared to pump out some good cash. I have no idea about tamu bro. And yes Location always has an advantage as you get more opportunities when you choose cities doing great business. California economy is one of the top in the world so I would leave it to you to research more and decide :)

oh well. Coding is something where anyone and everyone can do you don't need to have a Masters degree to be a programmer. Your dream should be even bigger say like an architect do the design and hire some cheap labour and do the coding with a master degree no one is gonna check your coding skills they will look into your ability of approaching complex problems and providing efficient solutions to them. Studying in US they don't check your memorizing ability. I'm almost done with two semesters and I haven't touched a single book. Majority of your exams here are open books exams. for example the last mid erm I had was to build a reservation portal in 2 hours.

Firstly when you have an opportunity to do masters never hesitate to grab it. To be frank I came to the US like everyone here thinking about getting a job as fast as possible but this country teaches you more than that. I personally did my under graduation in electronics and worked in Accenture for three which did make me love computers a lot and hence I wanted to learn more about it. I did have the fear like everyone here about risking my job but seriously the moment I came here it's totally different you'll just love the learning I get here. A lot of people ask about the job opportunities and stuff and man there is more than just working at the end of my second semester now I don't fear about what job I'm gonna land in I'm just excited and looking forward to what new I'm gonna learn in my next semesters. In short the MS in US the best that one can get learn everything you love just master it you don't need to find a job just create one :)

Secondly when you come into the US as a student you help US in improving their economy by paying the tuition fee and living expenses and even if not for Trump no one is ever going to stop you from investing money to them. I believe that more than people coming on H1B just coming on a F1 visa completing your masters and just doing an OPT will be more than enough to solve all your financial burden. Even if you land in a worst job in the US you will at least have enough money to clear your loan so never worry about that. it's simply worth the spend.

Finally as I have already mentioned California was the only thing running in my mind when I applied for my masters because it's like the six largest economy in the world and it here where the innovations begin so I did not even think about other locations so I'm afraid that I cannot comment much upon the universities you have mentioned. The logic is just simple places like Texas, NY have the HQ of tech giants such as Microsoft, Amazon on the other hand California is a place where you can find so many start ups. Each locations have their uniqueness so I would leave it to you to decide on which impresses you better :) Good luck.

A good referral means a lot in the US. Professor in each university have an alliance with few organizations and they work on multiple researches and projects for the organizations. This is where professors play a very vital role they gather students to help them with their researches and projects and if you prove yourself in those that will take you to higher places. So once you'll get here have a good rapport with the professors.

MSIS min requirement is 300 and above for gre but since you have work experience they might consider. I feel it's late to apply now but still give it a shot never know luck might help us sometimes.

I just checked bro. 290   in GRE and 2 years work experience is fine. IERF is required. if you have IERF already just apply if you don't have it then it's tuff because it take 10days to get the IERF and then if you apply it will be too late. just check and deadline and see if you can get through it.

ok I think I just shared with Kartickey this lemme say it again. I'm from an electronics background and an average student but I like computer programming a lot so I know that doing a masters is not easy and if i try for top university I would feel it difficult to cope up with the others so I was just satisfied with the GRE I got and applied to three universities and got in one and I'm really happy about doing my MS in CS. since I come from a Ece background I have been doing some prerequisites for over a year trying to cope up with the other CS graduates. so if a university offers you prerequisites never ignore it. it really helps a lot and you'll are coming to the US for studying so utilize the two years to the best. we are never going to get this life back so choose whatever you love to do and keep gaining more and more knowledge. don't panic thinking if you can cope up with subjects and stuffs when you are doing what you love definitely you will succeed.

you might not want TA but RA is really good. University are funded by some public organizations say for example professors they don't work only as lecturer they work for some organizations as well so what they would do is they would bring those projects to the university and engage students in doing it. This benefits the public organization because they are going to get things done in a cheaper way but on the other head of you look at what we gain out of it it's really more than you imagine. you get to work on some innovative stuffs learn new things get to know more people and professors also have good networking and they can place you in any of the top organizations they wish. Referral plays an important role in US even for an on campus job they would ask for reference letters from faculties. so what I'm saying is RA is a good opportunity to build more knowledge and with an RA in your resume your definitely going to stand out of other candidates.

there are two ways to graduate 1. complete 33 units and write a compre 2. complete 30 units and do a project. few people have innovative ideas in mind and they bring it here convince the professors and try to complete that idea as a project during their masters. you can do something like that think of an innovative idea or a research topic and start working and when you come here convince a professor and try to gain his interest in it and if he is happy he will help you with the project. else you come here take a class of a professor who you think is knowledgeable get good grades and approach him directly asking for RAnopportunities.

And SUNY Binghamton and UTA which are in small towns , but are public colleges.

Now the usually discussed trade-off is City colleges offer more internship and job opportunities but less TA or RA as are private. Vice versa for public colleges where good funding for TA RA available generally.

Frankly if you can afford the fees, its worth going.it is ranked higher than SUNY Buffalo and all and from what I know stevens is very popular among banks as its known for its technical studies.Location is an obvious advantage. @viccena  Hi Vignesh, I am plaanig for fall2020 - MS CS?MIS. gre-299, toefl- giving thsi week(say 90) , have good amount of work experience in IT (more than 5 years). cgpa 6.95. what are my chances for below , if i apply now or should i try for spring 2020
I have CSULB in mind ms cs .  is it too late to get admit? and CSUF.
And How is CSU EastBay for ms cs? 
Do u see any other universities to try at now?
