I've shared in this forum a question I hear frequently from students: basically engineering undergrads wanting to specialize in their fields with Quant scores in the early 160s. 

While it might sound like a great Quant score, 160 is actually just an average Quant score for engineering undergrads as it is roughly around 50th percentile. Which means, for every 100 engineering undergrads who take the GRE, at least 50 students score higher than 160 in Quant (159 from EEE branch, to be precise) and in fact at least 25 students score higher than 165 in Quant!
