I have no undergraduate research background and I most certainly will be applying for a non-thesis MS in MechEngg. I just want a "boost" for my professional career.

Universities generally ask you to mention why you would be a perfect fit in the program, and ask to name a few professors whose research interests align with yours.

It is pointless in my case. So should I clearly mention my intention of pursuing a non-thesis MS in my SoP? Will it hamper my chances (giving them the impression that I am lazy for not wanting to write a thesis)?
