Anyone got an email from U Pitts saying 'Thank you for applying to the Master of Science in Computer Science program at the University of Pittsburgh. As you may be aware, this program is going to be part of the new School of Computing and Information at Pitt. This new School contains not only Computer Science but many other disciplines related to computing (Information Science and Technology, Telecommunications and Networked Systems, and Information, Culture and Data Stewardship).
Because of the exciting variety of options that relate to your interests, you are being reviewed for ALL degrees in the School which may fit your interests. This means your application will be reviewed as follows: you will be offered your first choice, Computer Science, if the faculty in Computer Science grant you admission.
If you are NOT admitted to Computer Science, you will be reviewed for any alternative Master's degrees in the School that relate to your interests and offered admission to any of those if the faculty choose to admit you. If the admissions committees find no good fit for any of our programs, you will receive a rejection from the program to which you originally applied.' ???
