Visa Interview Experience:

After a long queue and seeing many students getting rejected by the Visa Officer. I was quite nervous and finally my turn came up.
VO: Good Morning, How are you?
ME:
Good Morning, Sir. I’m good, how are you?

VO: I’m Fine. So, what your going to do in the US?
ME:
I’m going to study MS in Electrical Engineering. (Suddenly, I realized that the name was c in the i-20). I’m sorry, Electrical and Electronics Engineering. There was a bit confusion since did my undergrad degree in Electrical Engineering.

VO: (With a distressed look) In which year did you complete your engineering?
ME:
In 2016. I gave my first attempt of GRE after that. I have good academics with no backlogs.

VO: Alright. Which University?
ME:
Sir, Wayne State university.

VO: How many universities, you applied to?
ME:
5 Universities, from which I got admits from 2 and 3 rejects.

VO: Okay, So Why did you choose Wayne State?
ME:
Well, Sir, First of all because they are offering me a scholarship of $3000 per semester (interrupted).

VO: But nothing is written over here (pointing towards the i-20) about any scholarship.
ME:
Well, I got an award letter from the university, I can show it to you.

VO: Okay (Passed him the award letter).
VO: Okay. Who is funding your education?
ME:
I took a loan of 20 lacs and my father is sponsoring my education and(interrupted)

VO: What does your father do?
ME:
He works in Indian Railways as.. (told him the designation of my dad).

VO: Okay, Alright your Visa is Approved.
ME:
Thank you, Sir.

VO: You are welcome.

Things that I observed,
It's okay to be nervous but be prepared to give confident answers as well as most importantly, don't lose eye contact while answering questions of the VO.
