Visa Interview Experience:

ME: Good morning sir.
VO: Good morning. Pass me your I-20 and passport.
Documents given.

VO: Why Syracuse?
ME:
Syracuse has better coursework, better TA, RA opportunities, better location, better weather..(Interrupted)

VO: Better weather! Do you like snow?
ME:
Yes, I like snow.

VO: Why not Charlotte?
I was surprised.
(VO asked me this question because last year I applied to UNC Charlotte)
ME: I became homesick and developed acute stress and strain. My parents advised me to come back home and take treatment. So I came back home, took treatment and I have completely recovered now.

VO: Who is funding you?
ME:
My parents have deposited adequate funds required for tution fees and living expenses in my savings account.

VO: What do your parents do?
ME:
My father has his business and my mother is an employee of bank of Baroda.

VO: You have been terminated from your university. When did you come back?
ME:
I filed a termination appeal when I was there in US. I had attached the reports from Psychiatrist. My termination appeal got refused in February. So I had to come back.

VO: I am keeping your passport. You will get a mail and message regarding the status of your passport. Enjoy the snow in Syracuse.
(Actually I heard this all in an unconscious state of mind. So I asked VO again)
ME: Was my visa approved?

VO: Yes. I am cancelling your old visa. It is a general procedure which we need to do with tourist visas also.
ME:
Thank you very much sir. Have a nice day.
